I was born and raised in So Cal.
I've lived in Ohio, yuck too much humidity.
I've lived in ND, with bitter cold -40 degree winters and had frost on my baseboards in the kitchen.
I've lived in Idaho outside Twin Falls and I sure miss the fishing, hunting and camping in Idaho.
I've lived in Nevada, in the middle of nowhere on a mine site. It was 30 miles outside Wells, NV the closest town, and 30 miles the other direction was Jackpot, NV.
Moved back to CA to be close to our ill mothers and lived in Moreno Valley, CA.
When hubby retired, after our mothers passed, we moved to the middle of nowhere AZ, off the grid, on 40 acres of sand and Juniper trees and love the peace and quiet.
The nearest gas station is 30 miles away and the nearest hospital is 75 miles away.
There are some things I miss about a city, but not much. The South Hills of Idaho, camping, fishing and hunting are the things I miss the most.
I love being an off-the-grid-hermit.
