Hi. My name is Elizabeth and I live in Stoneville, NC. My DH and I live on 3/4 of an acre. We have 7 hens and 1 rooster. Looking to expand our gardening knowledge. Our garden last year was a wash out with all the rain we got. I have huge hopes for this year. I am looking forward to sharing and learning on this site.

I just love chickens! What kinds do you have?

Lots of garden crazies like me around to help with that for sure. With lots of rain you need to make sure that you have soil that drains really well. That should take care of water issues for the most part. Maybe build some raised beds?

Any time you have any questions about chickens, gardening, aquaponics, preserving foods, and just about anything homemade, go right ahead and post. If you see someone you can help jump right in as well:)

I live near Seattle so I totally understand the water situation. Our raised beds work really well. When we have "Lake Panda" in our back yard because of the rains our raised beds are a great place for the worms to escape to.
Come to my garden and sit with me...
Among the flowers and honey bees...
