We live in North Tennessee. These little bugs cause a terrible problem on cucumber and squash plants. Along with melon plants. We dust plants with something that is supposed keep them off. You pretty much have to check plants daily. These bugs can attack a plant over night and destroy it..They literally suck the life out of them. I now Just pull the complete plant up to rid the area of them. If anyone out there has problems with these or has any other ideas to keep them away please post. We are always looking for help fighting the little buggers.

Have you tried food grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE)? The food grade is safe to spread all over your garden and is great for killing bugs like the squash bug! It is totally organic and works really good on bugs with exoskeletons:)

Just sprinkle it around the base of your plants and dust your squash plant with it as well.

Also look for eggs and pop them!

You can buy it here!

Thanks for the info. I have not used DE for my plants. I will try it I will try anything. We always pop the eggs. Hoping for a better crop this year without these little bugs.

The DE will be such a big help my friend!! Not only that but it is totally organic:) Heck, you could eat this stuff and people say it kills stuff that may be living in you! Just be sure to get the food grade.
