Hey Matt,

A friend of mine sent me this idea. I don't have the space but maybe some do. Great way to save your berries so deer and other little critters can't reach them. Some of you may have seen this before but I haven't so I thought I would share.

Gutter berries! Here's an interesting way to grow strawberries, fill an old rain gutter with soil, plant the berries & harvest them as the overhang. Much easier than crawling through Rows of berries on the ground and you won't need straw between the rows! You can easily attach them to any wooden structure and whatever height you like.

Nice! I really like this idea:) The only thing is I would think you would really have to have a water system on a timer. The soil being so shallow that would mean there going to dry out. If you water on time this would work great!

Have you tried growing them in straw bales?

What do you do with the plants in the winter? I live in Iowa and they would not over winter in the gutters. ;)
