I raise lavender orpingtons. I have 6 hens and 2 Roosters. I absolutely love a heavier bird. I admittedly have a chicken butt fetish. The bigger and rounder, the more awesome in my eyes. I dare say that I cannot believe that Matt would deface a beautiful orpington derriere for the sake of a small smudge of poop.

Where did you get your chickens? I am wanting one now but I would have to talk my sweetheart into it.

I bought my eggs direct from hinkjc, the originator of the lavender orpington line. I have and do ship eggs and am always open to barter through the mail, or I will sell some. I have them in my incubator now to test the fertility ratio, they're due The first week of February.

And I almost forgot! Marsha! My little white silkie that thinks she's blue. I have 5 of her eggs crossed with a lavender orpington roo in the bator. That's a project I've been dying to try.

These fluffy beauties are so AWESOME! I'm hoping to get some Lavender Orps this year myself. My littlest one wants her "purple chickies" lol.

Orpingtons are not only beautiful, they're a very calm and social bird.
