Here is a look at our chicken run, or "Chunnel" as we call it.
We have 3 chicken yards with the chunnel that runs between them all so the girls can travel around our back yard during the spring and summer months. During the fall and winter they get to free range all over the back yard.

Here are some pictures of the chicken runs and yards

We built a door so we can keep the chickens in the first run for those times we want to keep them close to the coop.

The chickens also have access to the bunny barn. They like to go in there when it is raining, or just to hang out with us when we are in there.

The chickens we got last year have not challenged the fence even though they are very low as you can see. I have a feeling that our new chickens that we got this fall are not going to want to stay in the fence come this spring and summer. We will probably clip one side of their flight feathers. But for right now all the chickens are getting to free range all over the back yard.

Wow, everything looks wonderful:) I had no idea you had their chicken tunnels that long! I definitely think the triangle is the way to go, looks a lot easier to build:)

I think we pretty much spoil our chickens. LOL
They do have a lot of places to run and do their chicken thing.
I think one of their favorite spots to hang out in is the compost chicken yard. Even now that they have free range on the whole back yard they like that place the best because there are a lot of worms and grubs in the compost bins. We hardly go through any pellets because they eat so well from all the chicken yards.

That was what I was thinking. If there is enough compost, grasses, and other things to eat I will save on feed cost:)
