It's really hard to tell at this age:( You're going to need to wait or have someone really professional be able to tell you. As time goes on just take some pictures and you would be surprise that people start calling it out there sex:)

I would definitely only have one rooster for 10 girls. Way less stress on them which means way more eggs.

So cool!!!! It works great and now I want baby chickens again:) If I was you I would get some wood shavings and put about 3" of it in there:) It will soak up there pop and water and it will give them something to scratch on:)

You are also getting to want to make a little step perch for them:)

Wood shaveings and chicken poop great start to compost

Dont use cedar shaveings they are toxic to chicks

And fine shaveings or sawdust can get stuck in they throughts

Large pine shaveings is best for chickens

I made a 3 level roost for them last night. When they are able to get to the top one, then I will put a natural stick in the brooder on the top through the wiring. So no matter what level they are ready to climb, they have each level now :) Right now, they seem to use it as a cover of protection LOL

I went looking for wood shavings, but sadly the farm supply store I normally go to was out, so I am going to have to try and find it else where. I read somewhere that Pine AND Cedar both were toxic to chickens, so I was looking for straight wood shavings. Pine is ok?

I plan to get that today!
