I wanted to share this info. from my neighbor. He told me yestarday that to rat proof my yard, I should get a snake skin from someone who has snakes(he does). When the snake sheds his skin, then take the skin and cut it into about 4 inch pieces and place around the perimeter of your yard or chicken run. Rats will not go anywhere near a place they smell a snake. I hate snakes but i will try this.

Interesting:) I may just have to try that! I would just put it around my chicken coop to keep rats away from there. Making sure that no food is wasted is a great way to stop the rats as well but this is a great little tip! Thanks!!
