I have a small coop made from upcycled pallets, for cirulation and natural light we used chicken wire to make a window and a small screen on the coop door. Two neighborhood dogs cleared my fence a couple months ago and tore clear through a corner of the wood and ripped the chicken wire clear off. We boarded off the windows because it was getting cold and Wintery anyway, but now that it's going to warm back up for Spring I need to find a way to protect my hens and also let them have fresh air and stuff. :) anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I did not see this post for some reason...I would use a heavier wire to protect your girls. When the dogs are on your property shot them! Ha ha ha;)

I'd use metal "hardware cloth", which is heavier and has about 1/4" mesh. Attach it with small fence staples and it should suffice to keep dogs from ripping it off. We use it on our duck pen to keep weasels & other small predators out.
Cheers,
John & Caroline
