Hi there and welcome to our new site:) I have a few questions for you.
  1. Do you live in an Home Owners Association (HOA)?
  2. What city and stat do you live in?
  3. Why do you want chickens? (this question is for fun!)

Let me know:)

  1. If you love in an HOA you will need to read there bylaws to see if they allow it's members to have chickens.

  2. San Antonio, Tx allows for you to have up to 3 chickens without a permit and you can also have a rooster:)

  3. Nice, funny thing is that is what I am doing! He he he;)

3) Trying to move towards natural living.

This is what my family is trying to do. It is harder then one might think. But we are finding it rewarding at every step.

This group is so helpful for learning and finding out answers to some unusual questions.

Good luck with your goals and looking forward to hearing about your journey :side:

Panda, Check your city's municipal code. Most municipal codes are now on-line. You can do a web search or I can help if you would like. Municipal codes aren't fun to read, but they will have the info you need if you take the time. The part I don't know is if counties can have some overriding requirement not covered by cities, towns, etc. I'm in the process of researching this.
